EAT
is a community food system group that wants to promote
local agriculture and local eaters. This means that members of EAT whether they are farmers,
chefs, nutritionists, educators, retailers, parents or concerned citizens want to maintain
a healthy local food system so that we don't have to rely solely on a global system that ships
our food from thousands of miles away. For this reason, EAT is involved with projects that
will help ensure that family farmers here can find local markets for the food they raise.
Locally grown fruits, vegetables, eggs, meat and dairy products can be purchased directly
from your local farmer at farmers markets, produce stands, u-picks, and through Community
Supported Agriculture (CSA) farms. Here, we list some of the farms and markets where fresh
local foods can be found:
