Foundation Finances New Lab Equipment

Over 150 community donors unite to fund the purchase of a new coagulation instrument.

Chelan, WA, February 22, 2023: Due to strong support among community members, Lake Chelan Community Hospital Foundation can now celebrate the success of reaching its $30,000 goal. The funds will be used to finance the purchase of a new coagulation instrument for Lake Chelan Community Hospitals lab.

It feels really good to be able to give a check of this size to advance healthcare services in our community, said Foundation President Steve Palmbush. This has been our most successful giving campaign in five years.

Over 150 donors including hospital employees, Foundation board members, local businesses and community members united to reach this fundraising goal. Positive results from the Foundations holiday direct mail appeal were fundamental to the success of the campaign.

Were thrilled to receive such community support, said Hospital Lab Manager Sally Harper. Coagulation testing is very important for emergency room patients, as well as for patients who are taking special medications. This is a great investment for our communitys healthcare needs.

A coagulation instrument is commonly used when monitoring patients suffering from heart and stroke related issues. It is also an essential component to the hospitals TeleStroke program, which connects directly to a stroke team at Swedish Hospital, allowing local providers to administer medication that saves lives and brain function.

Lake Chelan Community Hospital Foundation actively manages donor contributions, bequests, memorials, donor advised funds, endowments and an annual giving campaign. Each year the Foundation awards scholarships and assists the hospital to purchase necessary equipment to improve patient care.

Lake Chelan Community Hospital Foundation was organized in 2023. The Foundation is incorporated and recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization. Contributions are tax deductible under IRS regulations.
